[AboutTheCharacter]
Full Name: Eileen Kaleigh O'Connor Age: 15 PB: Saoirse Ronan Mental Condition/Disorder: Borderline Personality Disorder accompanied by Seperation Anxiety and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Personality: Eileen is sweet and friendly, easily approachable and makes a good first impression. She's polite and kind, always smiling. To strangers she is likable, easy to get along with. Then people get to know her and things go down hill at the speed of an olympic bobsled.
Elieen suffers from what is known as Borderline Personality Disorder. What does that mean? Well, her mood swings are so rapid she could make someone with Bipolar Disorder look sane. Those that do not know she is not mentally sound believe her to have permenant PMS, though if you accuse her of that she'll likely bite your head off.
The poor girl's life is ruled by rapid mood changes, impulse, black and white thinking, and a short attention span. Though most commonly hyper and overly excited, she easily slips into severe depression, rage, and iritability. Each mood rarely lasts more than several hours, some lasting as short as several minutes. It's highly rare that one of her more negative moods lasts more a day or two.
Those that manage to overlook Eileen's constantly changing moods know that she is a very likable girl. They also know that she is extremely clingy. A sufferer of Seperation Anxiety, all someone she is close to has to do is make her think he/she is leaving the room and Eileen will flip out. She will latch onto the person, begging, pleading, and sometimes even crying for him/her not to leave.
When it comes to making decisions, everything is always in black and white. There is no gray area for Eileen, no room for maybe or uncertanties. It's always yes or no, right or wrong, ect., ect. There is no partial credit and no indecision in what she does. Her decisions are also almost always impulsive, never fully thought through.
A result moreso of her ADHD than her Borderline Personality Disorder is her short attention span. She can not focus on things she is not interrested in, and her interest in one specific thing never lasts long. She'll often change topics while in the middle of a conversation. At its worst, something or someone all together different catches her eye and she ends up walking away without so much as a good bye. It takes several tries to catch her attention, someone often having to repeat calling her name before she'll even look at the person.
Eileen is also a very forgetful and disorganized person. She never remembers messages she's supposed to tell someone and is absolutely horrible with names. There's always something important she forgets to bring with her, and she's disorganized to the point that she always seems lost. Constantly misplacing things, she also tends to forget what she's doing while in the middle of doing it.
History: Born February 11th, Elieen was born two months premature to parents Leslie and Derek O'Connor. Despite being small, she was a healthy baby girl with bright eyes and a happy laugh. The hospital kept her a week for testing to make sure all her vitals were stable, and then she was allowed to go home.
The first and currently only child, Eileen had a very happy childhood. Her days were spet visiting relatives and playing at the park. In the summer she had a little kiddie pool to splash in. The neighbors had a child a year older than her, and she found a great playmate in the boy. She learned to talk and walk, and her daddy taught her how to write her name and sing the ABC's.
And then she turned four. Her mother was pregnant with a second child, and everything seemed to be happy and perfect. And everything was happy and perfect for the little family until the night of her parents' 7th wedding anniversary.
It was a rainy evening, but Leslie and Derek insisted on going out to dinner anyway. Eileen would be left in the care of the nextdoor neighbors. On their way home, the rain was still pouring. The car hydroplaned and spun out of control. It smashed into the car in front and was smashed into by the car behind. When the accident was cleared and all was said and done, five were dead. Both Leslie and Derek had lost their lives, along with the little old man driving the car in front and the housewife and her two year old son in the car behind. The only ones that survived the wreck were the old man's wife and housewife's husband and 6 year old daughter.
Having no immediate family living close enough that were willing to take her in, Eileen was put into forster care. She was taken in by Emily Davis, a middle-aged woman with a soft spot for children. Before taking in Elieen, she had Jackson and Taylor, and while Eileen was with her she took in Rebecca, Aaron, and Stephen. Living with Emily was good, nothing major to complain about at least, but the damage had already been done.
The death of her parents shattered Eileen's mind. A usually calm, pleasant girl, she began experiencing violent moodswings. Seperation Anxiety took a strong hold over her, and she became very clingy to her foster mother and siblings. Though she'd always suffered ADHD, the symptoms seemed to worsen and Emily decided it was best to find out why she acted the way she did. The doctors returned a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder. By the time she was diagnosed, Eileen was seven years old.
For seven years Emily attempted to deal with Eileen as best she could. The child was difficult though, and Emily wasn't getting any younger. When Eileen turned 14 it was decided that she be sent to Kailyn Institute. The girl did everything she could to stay with her family, but lost the battle and went to the school kicking and screaming. Now she's in her second year at the school, and not in much better condition than when she first arrived.
Appearance: Eileen isn't really pretty, but she's also not horrible looking either. Her slightly tanned skin is riddled with freckles, and her eyes are such a pale blue that they seem nearly gray at times. Her hair is thin and whispy, light brown in color and easily knotted. She stands at 4ft and 9inches and weighs only 95pounds. Her lack in height will probably classify her as a legal midget by the time she's 18, as she is nearly done growing and it is not expected of her to reach 5ft. Her build is slender, with long legs that make her look a little taller than she really is, but it's easy to tell she's not athletic and doesn't try to build any muscle.
Clothing wise, it can be said that Eileen dresses like a girly girl. She loves dresses and skirts. The only time she's caught in pants is if it's way too cold out, but even in winter she prefers to wear a skirt with tights or leggings. Her shoes almost always contain a heel at least 2inches in size, trying to obtain a little extra heght. Her nails are often painted, and she is a fan of jewlery as well, always wearing necklaces, bracelets, anklets, and rings.
